I bought this amp because its genuine SWR, not fender!
I bought a brand new one back in 97 and it sucked. Thank God GC had a 30 day return policy. Took it back and got me a nice GK.You bought a second hand amp that's 12 years old so now SWR sucks? lol.
If you guys can't even try help him, why post?
I'm thinking to sell the sm 900 and buy an eden wt1205...
When I turn the power on and start to play, in 1 minute the fan comes on and never stops. Even though the fan activates, the amp gets too hot that I can't touch it. I know that this is not normal...
The second problem is power amp clipping. The power amp clip comes on when I play with my band and I can't open my volume to high levels. This amp is a 900 watt amp but it sounds like it is 100 or less.
What can be the problem?? I'm thinking that it can be the tube or the amp get too old that there is some major damages in it.
I read about this problem at other 2-3 more sm 900 that is not old!!!!!!!!!

my amp is 12 years old. I use 2 cabs in stereo mode and they are both 8 ohms (one 2x10 and one 1x15). my bass is active ken smith. I boost only mid sometimes on the bass and others are flat. I tried the amp eq flat and the problem goes on.
