SWR working pro 12 speaker problem

I have a SWR WP12 that I use as my practice amp. Recently it started making a wierd noise when i play certain frequencies, especially while i'm slapping or playing percussive ghost notes. Its kind of a clucking, "wok, wok" almost wahwah kind of thing. My guess is, the speaker is smoked, which is a little surprising, since I only play it at about half throttle. So my question is, is there any way to test it, and more importantly, what would be a good replacment for it?

Yes, it's the speaker. The stock 12 is well, iffy at best. After throwing a Eminence Delta Pro in mine, it's a completely different animal; in a very good way. The power amp will start choking on the lows when the speaker still has miles to give. Sing's the B nicely.
