SX neck question

I currently have an older SX Jazz but am really want a P-bass. Seeing as how the new headstocks are atrocious, could I buy a P and switch out the necks without any modifications? Thanks

Are you talking about getting a Fender replacement neck..or a whole Fender P bass and changing the neck? Either option would cost you more than the whole SX bass, I would gather.

If you are getting a whole Fender P bass...why would you want to switch out the neck?

Are you looking for a P bass with a Jazz neck width? 1.5" on a P-style body? The Fender Mike Dirnt is a relatively inexpensive model that that has this setup...and a tele headstock! The Aerodyne is a P deluxe with a slim neck too, I believe.

i put an sx jazz neck on an sx p body no problem before. it's going the other way round that was a problem.

Me too. I put an SX Jazz neck on an SX P body and it was too tight in the neck pocket. I had to sand down the sides of the neck and gently work it into the pocket. Also the screw holes did not line up. I had to dowel and re-drill the neck. But it was an awesome player after I was done!

No I dont want a Fender neck...I want an SX P bass, but the new headstocks couldnt be uglier. So im curious if the neck on my SX Jazz that I already own, would fit on an SX P bass without any modifications.
