I did a (low budget) refinish today.
3 hours of work.
Spray paint the pickguard (black).
Spray paint the body (vintage white).

Not perfect but ok.

It looks great, but I'm usually sceptical of paint chipping off a painted pickguard...

It's just usual spray paint like graffity sprayers use.
It looks ok on the pics, but when you look close it's not perfect but i lke it.

Later i will post some close ups, so you will see the amateurish work

Yes, i just sanded it and sprayed over the original finish.

some SX refinish - relic nonesense I've been up to in the last 2 days.
ruined a perfectly good CAR medium scale SX by over-reliccing.
Had to hit the car parts store to paint it over. interesting effect as the new
gets worn away it uncovers the old (more sparkly) CAR.

your's will relic better than this, it seems.

For pickguard, I use the Krylon that is used for lawn furniture. It's very durable, but flat always comes out better than the gloss finish IME.

Starts to relic after few rehearsals and some gigs.
NEW MOD: Black Strat Knobs so i can see what tone i'm dialing.

The "ding" at the bridge ian accident with a DREMEL when i had to drill a new hole for the E-String because the 105 flatwound string didn't go through the hole.
