but its a sweet lil kiwi, i agree the animation of the kiwis pretty poor though, they could of at least made it the right colour

You're right... But that's part of the beauty of this. A short, unrealistic animation has people choked up, assessing aspects of life, etc. The fact that something so small, minuscule, etc. is this deep is impressive in and of itself, isn't it?Sometimes people take things far too seriously, don't they?Say, for example, a half-assed animation of a flightless bird.
I've read some Kant. I had a few Philosophy classes in Undergrad. Certainly deep and all that, but it's pretty massive. This animation is a few minute cartoon, and (in my opinion at least) is equally deep. Combining this message and method of delivery is key... The music doesn't hurt either.

I get it, and I can evaluate my life, but I come up with "I don't know what I would die for until that situation happened." That's it so far, I've asked myself that question before but it doesn't make me choke up. I dunno, kind of an obvious thing to think about, presenting it like some new impressive value is kind of a duh moment. I might've cried about it when I was a little kid, but why? Sure the Kiwi has something to die for, a dream that he achieves and I have none as of yet besides leave it better than I found it. Why should I cry about that? Should I cry for what my worthless life just beginning could've been? If I'm on my deathbed and wasted my life I might look at it again and cry, but for now it carries no emotional significance besides the sadness of a kiwi's suicide faking something he never could do. Maybe I'm just weird and think about life too much, but I'm not impressed.

Look at the reason why alot of birds in New Zealand become flightless. No preditors.
But since colonisation, there are now preditors such as cats, possums, and rats.
And thats the reason why kiwi has a need to fly, again...
