Synthy Fuzz tone

hey guys, what are the good fuzz pedals that works well with an MXR Envelope Filter and MXR BOD?

Octave pedals sound nice in front of envelope pedals. I love my Boss OC2. Their cheap too. I think I paid 60 bucks for mine, although that was a LONG time ago.

Try the Mastotron, similar in price, sounds great with my M82

Yup. I use mastotron here for synthy fuzz. Works nice with filter, too.

though technically not a fuzz (i think...), the zvex machine will give you pretty much one setting: insane distortion. you can dial it to keep the low end, and it does this weird oscillation on bends and stuff.

its kinda pricey for something that is literally ALL nasty (just nastier than any fuzz ive used), or its off. its not versatile, but it does what it does oh so good.

I'm using a Pog2 with a Blackout effectors Twosome fuzz. it has the Musket and Fix'd fuzz. the Fix'd is more of a bit like fuzz. and the musket is just incredible.

I go OC2-->LS-2 with an OLC Chunky Cheese and Dwarfcraft Devices Shiva set to blend-->Source Audio Tri Mod Wah. Synth City.

I go POG2 or Whammy ==> Way Huge Swollen Pickle ==> MXR M82 and I can achieve a very synthy tone with my noise gate set correctly. If you don't have a noise gate, you're going to need a gated fuzz. I really have been craving a Brown Dog bass fuzz, by Chunk Systems, but they're a bit pricey.

Also, if you happen to decide to go the Swollen Pickle route, make sure you mess with the internal trim pots. They make a huge difference when trying to dial in a good sound on bass.

+1 to the Zvex Mastotron. Plays real nice with those 2 MXR pedals.

I shall have to try that... Mode 4 seems like the most useful of the "weird" modes.
