Hi, I would like to up my bands lighting game a bit. We have an assortment of PAR washes and a couple Chauvet mini 4 bar rigs. I have a wireless transmitter and receivers. My options right now are the hardware dmx controller which is bulky and not very intuitive for me or a laptop. If possible I would like to be able to run lighting from a tablet. I have an Amazon Fire 10 but would consider purchasing an iPad if I had to. What are you all using? I am assuming I would need a do-hicky to connect the tablet to the dmx out. I'm not looking for something terribly complicated. I would have to run it from the stage. What's the latest and greatest? Thank you!

I use Vibrio (Ipad only) to wirelessly control my lights. I run a variety of scenes on slow fade, so I'm not syncing lights to a click or anything like that. As a backup I have Aurora DMX on my Android phone. I'm not a big fan of Aurora. There may be other Android options I'm not aware of since I haven't looked for probably a couple of years.

The Ipad connects to a wireless network that has an ArtNet to DMX converter wired to it via ethernet. The output of the converter goes to a Donner wireless DMX transmitter, then out to the lights. I also attach my XR18 to the same network and control the mixer with a couple of Android tablets. It's been a super reliable solution for me.

Chauvet lights, why not use Chauvet Software.

I don't have any hands-on experience, but the last organization I worked in bought quite a few Chauvet Pro level moving heads and a couple of huge foggers. They were run off a Win Laptop with Chauvet software. We used the Chauvet D-Fi wireless with good results in 2014 and 2015. This is not necessarily an endorsement of the D-Fi. It was reliable for us, but I believe people operating in more challenging RF environments started having problems with it. I believe the problems relate to operating in the 2.4Ghz band, which is now very cluttered. If you want to go wireless, I recommend finding a 5Ghz option. Most likely :greedy::greedy::greedy:.

I have gone the Donner route in the past but sold everything during Covid19. I started doing sound last year and have been using 4 of these along with 4 other regular slimpar's.

I can control them through the free app on my iPhone. So when I am mixing from out front I have an iPad for FOH and my iPhone for the lights. I mostly use the black out and strobe effects but from the looks of it they can be programmed as well. I this a great system IMO because there are not cables to run or devices to hook up.

You can also attach none blue tooth lights to them and control those attached lights from the master which I do with my older ones.
