Take The Plunge? (Shipping Boxes Content.)

During the last year I got rid of 99% of my gear shipping boxes ( recycled them, of course ).
I would have needed to build another room!

Do you know what the really sad thing about doing it was? As I handled all those boxes
it made me reflect on all the cool stuff that I have bought over the years and rarely have time to play!

Make love to each one before you let them go...

I have only kept my amp and effects boxes, plus the boxes for studio mid-field monitors.

It's probably time to get rid of the amp boxes. They are all way out of warranty so I won't be shipping them anywhere.

Weird; just decided to recycle all of my pedal boxes.

Decided that the 2 boards I have are what I have and going forward from here. Have my cabinet and amp boxes in the garage for a move. Pedalboards have ATA cases, soo......

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one that saves boxes.
When I moved back to NY after living in Greece, they came in handy

I'm nowhere near ready to get rid of any of them.

I sold off 95% of my bass gear last year and early this year due to another heart attack. I still have a larger and smaller guitar box I keep in the basement. That's in case I part with my banjo or one of my acoustic guitars. All large items like cabs are local pick up only.

I keep guitar boxes too. My garage attic is full of em. I hate trying to find one when I sell something.

I don't keep boxes. I've flipped a few basses the last couple of years, but I donated those - a local drop off. No boxes needed.

It would be a really big step, but for the first time in a loooong time I'm actually thinking (Mind you, just "thinking". But that's a pretty big step.) about getting rid of the boxes that were used to ship my bass equipment. Boxes for amps, cabs, pedals, basses....Everything. I'm that happy with how the rigs sound, how versatile they are and how easily they are moved, setup and torn down for my hit-it-and-quit-it gigs.

It's a nice feeling to hear yourself play and think "Man, that sounds great"! I mean, my playing kinda sucks, but it sounds great!!

Anybody else take the plunge??

So... you're using these boxes for cartage?

Next step: Get some road cases?

I had to pay a local store $20 for a box & bubble wrap for each bass box I needed - so if you don't want your bass boxes... I wonder how much they'd cost to ship flat!?!?

My storage space is at a premium -- way more valuable than cardboard. I use mine to help keep weeds down in the garden.
