What are they selling? “Oh noes, you’re at risk - buy our protection or you’ll DIE!!!”
Then after a few months of having their service and you are wondering if it is worth it, they let you know you have been "saved" by them.
"OK. I will renew, they saved me last bill cycle."
Though they can just say you were compromised and we took care of it without you knowing for real.

Disclaimer:
This is my feelings on these Monitor Your Safety and Credit companies.
I have been frauded many times on my credit and all it takes is a call and it disappears.

Mr. Bigbottom did you purchase $799.00 at Walmart in Jacksonville Florida?
"I have never been to Florida."

Just give your testimony that this purchase was not you.
Was this purchase at Walmart for $799.00 in Jacksonville Florida done by you?
"No, I did not make this purchase and have never been to Florida."

OK Mr. Bigbottom, we are canceling your card and sending out a new one to you, should have it in three days.
"Thank you."

This happens every year or so, last one was four months ago, in three days or less my new card is in my hand.
Your card company monitors for you, or if you see something on your bill you did not do, call them. It goes the same as above.

Same thing for “virus protection” on computers...uh, no thanks. I’ll just reconfigure the computer to new/out of box by loading the original software back.

Eh... not trying to judge here, but credit fraud 1+ times a year is definitely not a part of a healthy balanced breakfast. I might advise some more cautious credit card use if they have to be replaced that often. Oh, and I rank your credit security a C+ to keep it somewhat on topic. Happy spending!

Thant is the funny.
The card used for online is the one that does not git hit it is the ones used at major retailers or barely used.

"People are out there constantly running numbers, eventually they get a hit on yours." Is what the card companies tells me during these calls.

So it's like winning the criminal lottery! Must not be that big of a deal if credit card companies just brush it off. Dishnetwork took forever despite it not being my actual first name or address and it wasn't even on my credit card. Guess I would've been better off getting my credit card stolen.

It's a app that checks and rates the overall security of a website you're visiting to let you know how secure or unsecure it is. Most of those apps work well but also some of their workings are subjective and questionable too.
