Talkbox FTW!

from what i hear, talkboxes aren't really that great with bass--do a search :)

It depends on how you have it set up in your chain and what type it is. I had a Rocktron Banshee (first version) and used the Dry Out from one of my other pedals to feed it. That way when I kicked in the talkbox, I still had a signal going to my amp to keep my low end.

Rocktron now has the Banshee 2 that takes care of that for you with a dry out of its own that'll pass the signal on to your amp even when the talkbox is engaged.

The Digitech Talker, on the "Talkbox" setting, sounds like the classic hose-in-the-mouth talkbox... Then it can do a bunch of other things on top of that, but none are as kewl as the Talkbox setting, IMO.

The downfall of the Talker, or at least of the two I own, is that they cause this huge POP through the PA when you engage the unit (kinda like somebody unplugging a phantom powered condensor mic through a PA with the volume cranked). I've had to resort to switching the vocal signal on & off externally with a ProCo Panic Button to use it live w/o the speaker-blowing BOOM happening...
