Tascam MP-BT1

Could your MP3s be Digital Rights Managed (DRM)? If they are, I believe you aren't permitted to transfer them unless the unit (bass trainer) is registered in iTunes, somehow. That's the way it worked for me with Rhapsody, anyway.

I have to agree with you. My wife got me one to replace my CD-BT1mkII (the door broke). However, between the non-existent bass on the MP-BT1, and the rather poor bass EQ effect on it (compared to the CD-BT1), I have been on a search for another (preferably new) CD-BT1mkII.

Well, it turns out two guitar centers in my area have them in stock (even though they have been discontinued for over 2 years) and they are selling them for--get this--$79! I suggest calling them and trying to get one. Yeah, you have to deal with CDs, but if the quality is so poor on the MP-BT1, it may be worth having to buy a stack of CDs once or twice a year.

Two important things to note:
  • On the Mac, the keyboard shortcut to send an item to the Trash is command+backspace, not delete.
  • Sending a file to the Trash does not delete it if it's on an external drive (like your Tascama or a USB key). You need to empty the Trash before disconnecting the device for the files to actually be deleted.

I got one of these a couple months ago, so still working on things.

With PC, you can delete songs while its plugged into your computer.

For muddy bass, maybe you need to lower the input level. I don't go over 5 or 6 at the most. Sounds pretty good.

What cans or IEMs are you using with it?

Not sure if anybody's seen this before, but I've completely cleared off my TASCAM MP-BT1 and I'm now trying to add some songs. I've downloaded the songs onto my computer, I then sync them to my bass trainer (the computer tells me the sync is complete and that the songs transferred; I'm doing it exactly the same way I've always done it), but when I turn the TASCAM on it says there are no music files. I even brought the bass trainer to work with me today, hooked it up to the computer, and the computer then pulled up the songs that I added to the bass trainer and allowed me to play them... yet there is no sign of the songs on the bass trainer for me to play along with. I'm puzzled! Any ideas?

That's definitely odd. One thing that happened to me was downloading mp3 files and seeing them but not able to play them.

Maybe they're in a subfolder that is not showing when it is not connected?

Maybe they are in a different format that your computer will recognize but the trainer won't?
