Taylor GS Mini acoustic bass

Has anyone compared the GS mini Koa bass to the GS Mini spruce Sapele Bass or GS mini spruce maple bass

I have not, but apparently (according to their website) they only sell the Koa version now and it is $1k.

I still don't play my GS mini bass much, due to the uneven sound and the horrible treble that comes out of that preamp. I wish there was a different pickup/preamp system for it.

The uneven sound is not specific to this bass, I think you may have the same problem with all ABG equiped with piezzo pickups. I had the same issue with my previous ABG for example.

But you can adjust the pressure of each string using an allen key:

Thanks. I've spent an awful lot of time trying to make this work. I forgot to say that I've been playing Taylor acoustics for the last 20 years and I hate their ES systems (in all their varieties). The main problem of this latest iteration is that it doesn't really adjust for each string as you say. It might work better in a 6-string (2 strings per element), but in a 4 string, each string is affected by two different pressures, making it impossible to balance.
