I have a jt500 jj that Is supposed to arrive tomorrow ,I can let you know my thoughts on it.I will be posting a review.I don't know the size of the pickups yet ,but that might be something. I will mod but not sure yet. I have heard the j style pickups have a nice growl to them, and Jake will do a custom j mm configuration if you want .that would be another way to go If you want, the guy is so cool you could probably send him whatever pickups and preamplifier you choose and he would put it in. After I ordered mine I almost called him back to see if I could get a reverse color finish like the body black cherry with a natural pickgaurd . That would be cool...

I'm looking forward to your review. I'm particularly interested in the neck and how well put together the current batch of these things are.

And speaking of wanting the soapbar style pickups, I remember Jake saying that his soapbars are about the same size you would see on a six string bass.

Talk about resurrecting old threads... I picked up my "The Bass Company" basses today at Sam Ash. It was $299, which might be high based upon what I've seen here cost wise. It's a 5 string bass with active/passive switch and active electronics. It's one of my favorites!

Not sure, but like that, kind of a J clone, very light finish, 5 string, I think. It has been a while.

I just got one! It's the older Stingray style. This thing is a beast. Has the regular 19mm string spacing which I like a lot. The regular Stingray 5s have the narrower 17mm spacing I believe. Yeah this bass is built like a tank and sounds thick and mean but still has that Stingray vibe. I can't put it down. Super cool!
