TC Electronic BG500 > BH500 Help Needed

Hi Chaps,

So a few years ago I foolishly sold my rig of:
TC Electronic BH500
TC Electronic RS410
TC Electronic RS212

Ever since I've regretted it and I now just want my rig back (albeit downsized to RS210 and RS212 as I'm not gigging).

The BH500 however has been discontinued and I know they do crop up for sale but I've been offered a BG500 Combo at a reasonable price and the fact that it's a combo would suit me well until I get the money together to buy my RS210 and RS212 cabs.

The BH500 and BG500 chassis appear to be absolutely identical aside from colour and one problematic fact... The BG500 has no speaker output as it's a combo.

Surely though it will work to drill the back of the chassis and wire in a speakon output in place of the wiring for the combo? Pop that into a separate enclosure and hey presto I have a BH500 head again?

Can anyone see any reason this may not work or does it make sense?
