Hello,
My main workhorse is AI CodaR, but I need more power for the Big Band gigs and noisy rooms. I am about to purchase used 112 Onyx cab by LemurMusic and looking for matching amp. I got really interested in BH250 for the size and price. Is it worth trying? What else is out there?
I love my AI, but it seems always sounds better far from where I am standing. It is really hard to hear details in some rooms. Is it only me that having these issues with Coda?
Please share your advice.

I don't know how good of even great that Lemur Music cabinet is, and I don't know the used price. But I suggest you check out some of Mike Arnopol's cabinets, maybe the 25 or the 26. I have a 26 and it's hands down the greatest by far I have ever heard.
As to the amplifier- the BH250 is rated at 250 watts, and that does not say much. In my experience, these (rather budget-y) digital amps cut out in a rather nasty fashion when pushed to limits, and they have to, since otherwise it's getting really ugly. I have tried the BH250 and while the sound worked ok (great with the MAS26, but almost every amplifier is some shade of great with that cab), it sure didn't feel like 250 watts. An unbypassable and uncontrollable (meaning it's inbuilt and has no "limit" dials) limiter cut me off harshly whenever I tried to push it. Plus, I don't really see much use for the toneprint feature for double-bass, at least not for me. That said, the out-of-the-box sound with all dials flat was already quite useable for double-bass, and I didn't miss a midrange control (it has a high/low tone control).

Anyways, mileage usually varies, etc.

As to what else there is- there's tons of small, lightweight class-D amps that have sometimes outrageous power ratings, but most of them do the trick somehow. People like Aguilar ToneHammers much here on the forum, I guess, there's Markbass, that little Ampeg thing, Phil Jones D200, TecAmp Puma (M. Arnopol loves his, I remember), Acoustic Image has an amp head as well... Or Epifani UL501 (that one has a class AB-power amp and is rather pricey) or Piccolo 600. Lots of things to try, that's for sure.

Just curious when you said the BH 250 sounded fine set flat. Did you mean at 12:00 position or all the way down. I was also curious about the MAS 25 and 26. What is the difference in room size or volume between the two. I have a BH 250 and a AI contra series II which I was thinking of using one of them as an extension to the AI or alone with the BH 250. Also how are the MAS for some EB.

I only have first hand experience with the 26, and that one sounds absolutely gorgeous with electric. I played a gig with the Eden wt 400 and the mas26 s stage system going into the house system via DI, and that would not have been totally necessary. The MAS puts out monster low end with supreme control and punch, and folks were asking where the 4x10 was.
As to the amp, it's commonly accepted to refer to tone controls as "flat" when they are set to noon- even though the amp might be voiced so that the frequency response is not flat then.
