I have not read this entire thread but has anyone made a comparison between Avatar and TCE cabs with the BH500?

TC Electronic BH500 - Good or Bad Choice?

Wih my BH500 it seems to take a sudden jump at about the 4.5 mark. Not much is really noticeable at all until that point, and then it spikes. Do other user's have this same experience with theirs?
Never liked the face of the BH. All the instruction labels are unnecessary, and makes it look cheap. So I made a what if face. If I can print this on one piece of vinyl that can smoothly adhere to the existing face, I'll do it. Will take a few paper prototypes to line up correctly. This example is not 1:1, but sized down proportionately.
Just making more work for myself.

Not quite, but:
I used my BH500 with an Avatar B410NEO for a year. It rocked along pretty well. But I didn't get that deepness I craved, and had a lot of overtones that left me cross-eyed. Two weeks ago I sold the Avatar, and last week brought home a GenzBenz NEOX212T I just bought from a fellow TBer: Holy Guacamole! DEEP, big and round. The BH changed completely through The Benz - especially midranges which are now a wide adjustment range, where it seemed much narrower through the 410. Now hi and lo's adjust is far more gradual, so more usable. And deepness... luscious.
This morning I connected my Hartke VLX preamp to this new rig: Bass Heaven. Period. I set each bass with a memory that brings out the best nature of that bass. Pretty great as is. Now the VXL tweaks the character of that good nature bass. Yes, bass heaven with Ric4001, ATK750 and G&L SB2. There is no GAS left in my tank. Man, what relief.

Only had the one chance to use mine sonar this year, but it performed way better than I expected.
Rather happy with it to say the least.

I've had mine for several months and it gets great tones and has nice features. But alas I'm going to sell it and go Hartke LH1000 and a Hydrive 4X10. The TC just does not have enough power for my situation. I heard a dude at a recent festival use the Hartke head with the 4X10 and a 1X15 and a MM stingray. Let me tell while we were standing around stage waiting for our sound check he hit a couple of notes and my ears perked up. Man you talk about clean ass kicking sound. Now I realize part of it was the MM Ray. I tried a HYdrive 4x10 on the way home the other day at a local store. I plugged in a Ray into a Mesa head into the Hartke and got a great tone. The TC is good in small rooms or if you get the ohms down it can get kinda loud.

I see what you mean about the ohms. From my experience, the BH500 really needs the full 4ohm load to be used to it's full potential. I used it at a gig our orchestra did recently with a peavey 4x10 8ohm cabinet and while it was plenty loud enough, it just seemed to sound like it was choking a little. Then when I use both the cabs I have, making 4ohms the sound changes totally.
I can most likely get around it with some EQ tweaks, but that'll have to wait until next time. Just bought myself a Laney R5 2x10 combo which is a little more convenient for the types of gigs I'm involved in at the moment.
But my BH500 certainly isn't going anywhere anytime soon, I love it!
Best option as far as the Hartke 4x10 Hydrive would be to lean it back. That's what the dude that I saw did. I didn't think to look what was holding the cabs up. He had a 4x10 and a 1x15 side by side which was kinda unusual The head was in a rack behind the cabs.

I just got back from Guitar Center with my new BH500, and I recently bought a used NeoX 212T, so this post makes me very, very happy! Can't wait to get tweaking!
Interested to hear what you think of this pairing. I haven't had the chance to play full band yet, and my practice room its just too small (10x12) for the power output to actually hear its full capability.
Sorry it took so long to get back...but two bands later, this combination WORKS. My lead guitarist in the bad cover band HATES this amp, so they did SOMEthing right!
My combo of the BH and the GB T212 works great. Three gigs and now a larger full band practice room and it really sounds great.
Recently I added a 4 Ohm Eden EX115 cab to this. I'd heard the head will do 2 Omhs, and will do so with TC cab combos. No problems, but both my cabs are quality gear. The 115 adds a nice fat, wide bottom end.
Pretty happy with this set up.
I cant find the RMS ratings for this head. Anybody out there got them handy? I have a single 15" Bag End cab. Thanks
