TC Electronic Polytune Clip tuner: kudos & questions

Just took delivery yesterday on my new Polytone Clip, from Sweetwater. Had to pay $49, but free shipping and fast delivery makes up for it. So far, I love it - super visible, and it tracks really fast so I know if I'm tuned up quickly.
The directions just suck - tiny print I need a magnifying glass for, and not very clear either.
Two questions:
1. How do I toggle between "needle mode" and "strobe mode"? The directions say it has something to do with one of the side buttons, but fer cryin' out loud, why not spell out how to do it?
2. What's up with the other side button, the directions calls it "TUNING". When I press the button, the tuner cycles between a sequence of gobbledy-gook on the tuner that I can't even read. Do I even care what this function is for? If it's for guitar, I don't care what it's for.

The 'tuning' button changes your...you guessed it...tuning. Put it in whatever mode you tune your bass to. E is 'normal'.

It's in the support section. It's a copy of the same manual that came with the pedal

Thanks man. Much appreciated - I see it now on the website. I didn't get a manual per se, just a folded up piece of tissue-thin paper written in about 12 languages. The English part of it had roughly half the info contained in that manual.

Man, the TC Polytone clip tuner is just a great little tuner. I'm leaving it on the strobe mode mostly, for now anyway. I'm finding it responds best when it's clipped to the headstock near the nut, instead of at the end like I started out.

Ok....You are the freakin sunshine of my life! I've been 95% happy with this tuner for months using it with my upright and 5 string Jazz bass. I didn't realize its been in guitar mode this whole time. I just put in "B" mode and its even just a tad better. Go figure.
By the way. I've tried MANY of the clip on tuners out there. Most of them go from suck butt to "ok" on my electric, and less than ok by a lot on my upright.
