I'm starting a first foray into the avant-garde/New music side of conservatory study. While we have great contemporary music faculty, my own professor is much more old school and symphonically inclined.

I'm looking for someone in the New York City area who can help me learn the extended techniques associated with George Crumb's first book of Madrigals.

well i would recommend robert black and don palma.

Don Palma would be my recomendation but i think he now lives in Boston and only comutes to NY to do Orpheus ch. orch. and any other stuff.
