Tech 21 SansAmp Bass Driver DI V2

I typically go direct out of my bass into a Presonus VSL box and then into the DAW. I mostly play a 4 string and only occasionally a 5 string. I use a wide variety of basses with setup (strings, pups, tone/balance settings) to best suit the song.

My studio work is typically remote, so I am sending wav files to the engineer.

I've heard good things about the Tech 21, but would really value feedback. Does it make sense or is it too much pre-processing, etc?

Send the affected and unaffected outputs separately from the Sansamp to your engineers. That will give them the option of using the wet or dry signal at mixdown. That's the most useful part of that box as far as I'm concerned.

That's what I was thinking. I wasn't sure if it produced good options for wet sounds that would be superior to what the engineer could get by running one copy through the Ampeg simulator and mixing with the dry sound. Any thoughts?

If the engineer has a dry sound as a safety net you're good to go regardless of whether or not the wet sound is used.
