Some of the examples were meant to show the overdrive capabilities of the pedal. Please note on the distorted clips the drive level is turned up past noon and the level is turned down. There is no distortion being created by the recording device.

Maybe it's youtube but it really really sounds to me like there's digital clipping. I record with the BDDI all the time so I'm pretty sure I can trust my ears. There's some funky stuff happening in there. I have noticed that youtube gets very crunchy when it compresses the audio so that's probably what it is. You just might want to double check... I'm often wrong though.

And I should add that I use my BDDI on every gig I play to add a touch of overdrive. I makes my Mark Bass rig a little sweeter sounding. With my Ampeg it give it a little more crunch, and for my GK it helps take out some harshness.

sorry, i love my BDDI (that into a straight power amp is my bass rig), but those tones were mostly blurry on the low end.

how about a "clean SVT" setting?: blend 100%, drive well back (like at 9:00), EQ to taste but not too extremely boosted. that gives me a bit of grind when i dig in on my picked P bass, but the low end stays big and clear.

That's the thing, I don't even dislike all of the clips, but that tone feels wrong when it's coming off my fingers. I am the same way with chorus. I like a lot of songs with chorus on bass, but I hate the sound of it when I'm playing unless it's doing it to some crazy synthed out effect.

I've used a PBDDI for the last 2 years or so and absolutely love it, wouldn't play without it. So the clips didn't make me buy one, but I did call Tech 21 to buy a t-shirt.

I'd like to hear some good finger tones using overdrive blended in. They always sound good with a pick. Fingers are the tough part. Im no way bashing tech 21. I've had a tradmark 60 combo and psa-1 for a long time and love them to death. I like the chracter pedals alot but find that they can get to squishy. Im getting a leeds pedal tomorow. Thinking about giving a bass driver a 3rd try. Tech21, drop me a line. I have some very good ideas for you.
