What kind of bass effect Chris Squire used on "Tempus Fugit"? Is the guy in this video using the same kind of effect?

Chris Squire uses a flanger on that song. I heard someone on a different forum get a very similar sound with the Electro-Harmonix Deluxe Electric Mistress. I have an MXR EVH-117 that sounds fantastic, but I'm not sure if it'll get that *exact* sound.

I'm new to the effects, so I wasn't shure whether it was a flanger, phaser, envelope or some other. Is the guy who's covering Tempus Fugit in the video also using a flanger? It sounds to me also a bit like wah... Or am I completely wrong?

It certainly sounds like flanger in the vid to me.

Flanger. THe MXR m117 is pretty close to that sound.

And in interesting news I believe it was his Elektra bass with the flanger module in the bass. I think they were also called pods and if I recall the bass could take 2 modules/pods.

But yes you can use pretty much any flange to get very close.
