Tenor Sax

I'm thinking about learning tenor sax as a kind of side instrument. I can get the instrument (I'm in my school's jazz band and they're pretty chill about sharing instruments) does anyone have any experience/tips for beginning? (oh yeah, the main reason I want to play is to learn the main part to Baker Street)

I play saxophone as my main instrument. There is a site SOTW that is simliar to Talkbass for saxophone. Click on the forum section and any question you have you can probably get answered there using the search function.

If you have some specific questions please feel free to PM me. I will help you as much as I can.

I played tenor from 5-10th grade. Stopped playing mostly because I got into drama at that point and didn't have the time or dedication to keep up - which I regret. It's a great instrument. No particular tips to give, though, other than what I'd say on any instrument - learn your theory and get a good teacher. Oh, and if you're borrowing someone else's instrument, at least get your own mouthpiece. Eww.

That right there... Invalid Link Removed

I'll also second the "pm me with any specifics" bit as I have about 20 years gigging on sax. Best of luck.
