Terror Bass to Presonus Studio Channel

Ok, im in search for live bass DI heaven. Thoughts on the following...
Orange Terror Bass 500 effects send is Tube driven. 》FX send to input of the Presonus studio channel input in PA rack. 》Compress, EQ then DI to Bass channel on mixer. Total of 3 12Ax7 to the board? 2 weeks until the next opportunity to try it. What are yalls thoughts?

Plugging in to the FX send of the Orange will likely break the signal path, leading to no output from your amp.
This could be overcome by using a splitter box after the fx send, with one path going to the Persons Studio Channel, and the other to the fx return of the terror.

Alternatively, you could simply take the DI output of the Terror and plug that into the microphone input of the Presonus studio channel.

With that sort of setup I'd be inclined to look at a way of splitting the signal before the amp allowing me to run the Presonus and Orange in parallel - the studio channel giving me a coloured preamp/studio processed type sound, and the Orange a more gritty, amp-y tone. I could then utilities the independent EQ controls of both signal paths to compliment each other as well as retain the freedom to EQ the amp as needed for a speaker cab, or physical space I may be playing in.

So my stage monitoring will not affect the DI. In search of the Holy Grail of Live DI. Although the Terror sounds good DI, i dont believe the DI is tube driven. But the send is. Thats what lead me down this road. Ive got a Bass Butler for sale right now. And gonna use the funds to help in this search. The Nordstrand Starlifter is very interesting. Not Tube but sounds good. This is the tone im looking for.....

I'm fairly certain the DI is post volume and eq, in which case it will most certainly be capturing the same tube flavour as the send.

Having owned and used most of the preamp/DIs from that video you shared, I would recommend saving up for one of those options if you can. Something like the Arkham Oracle, Broughton P15, Jule Amps Simone would all deliver on those tone goals, though all around the $700-$800 mark price wise.

Do you already own the Presonus Studio Channel? If so then crack on and experiment. I am not personally familiar with that unit, but it certainly looks promising.

Yes, i own a Studio Channel and have upgraded the 12ax7. Have used it alone to do live shows. Its good. So, yes. A couple of weeks im gonna run DI out of TB into Presonus then to board. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for talking shop.
