I have owned my carved La Scala since 2010 and love it every day. I have had very, very few issues with it - but then again I am careful about humidity (I had a split seam 2 years ago probably due to traveling by boat between islands in Maine where the humidity reached as high as 86%). I might consider a second, ply bass for those suboptimal environmental times...
