The $20 Amazon Preamp - It Sounds Good To Me:)

Revisiting this... after playing the bass for a while since the last posts on this topic and the other Grind5 thread, I've got to say that this preamp is pretty amazing. The EQ works great and predictably, it's VERY quiet, and sounds wonderful. So I guess the question is... what is BETTER about the (much) more expensive preamp options, other than the availability of a wider range/complexity of features (phase/polarity switches, etc). Would, say, an Aguilar OPB with the same configuration sound any better and, if so, how?

I was wondering the same thing…I recently gutted my Lakland 44-01 and wired it passive with a couple switches and installed bartolini mk5’s and it sounds dead, so I almost dropped $250 on a new Bart preamp. Went to Amazon, found your review, then came here looking for opinions, so thanks!
