The 3 String Stingray! Video demo!

Here it is folks - I finally created a video demo of the one of a kind 3 string stingray!

The video is ‘Big Time’ by Peter Gabriel - and features my take on the ‘Funk Fingers’ made famous by Tony Levin!

I got this stingray from Jason Newstead’s collection - and I believe it is the only one around! I thought it would be great to share this with the world!

Fyi, Tony Levin didn't use funk fingers on Big Time. They were actually drum sticks playing the percussive part (i.e., right hand) by the drummer.

Sounds great. I made some funk fingers, but find it challenging to hit individual strings. The three string solution looks like it might help me.

True for the studio, but the funk fingers were born so Mr Levin would have a way to perform it on tour.

It is E A D - though I guess anything is possible.

It was to get bigger string spacing for the funk fingers, if I remember correctly. I think it was in a Tony Levin feature in Bass Player.
