This is my first thread creation so bear with me as I am very contradicting of myself and have buried myself in a rut over these different ampeg models. I’m posting this in hopes to help others settle their own debates in the future because I’ve been reading old threads of ampeg gear dating back to 2015.
BA210
I keep going back to this combo amp and it has been at the top of my list because it has 283 watts by itself, the tilt feature seems amazing for practice or gigging as it turns into a stage monitor, and the aux volume level seems really neat for practice. I could later get a 1x15 or 2x10 cab to reach its full 450 watt potential. I understand this seems like a cheap option and really beginner level equipment. The overdrive option I most likely wouldn’t use because I have a big muff pedal. I’m just a sucker for practicality, but has the option for more power if I ever wanted to get louder with an extension cab.
PF350 head+ SVT210AV cab or PF210HE cab
This setup seems really promising as I’m not worried about having to carry and load separate pieces. I’ve seen old threads where both are promising options. Not sure about the tonal capabilities of the two different style cabs, though. I also know the SVT210AV only puts out 200 watts and would have to get another matching cab just to reach the full capacity of the head at 350 watts.
I don’t really dig the bundles with the micro svt or the other mini stack (can’t remember the model).
I’m in the used market and currently I can get a BA210 for $350. Then the PF350+SVT210AV for $400
Another combination I have thought of for the BA210 is getting the SVT210AV or the PF210HE to pair with it as ampeg doesn’t make a matching cab. So, I’m wondering which of those cabs would sound and match better.
Any information of any kind regarding ampeg is greatly appreciated and thank you for reading this thread.
Recommendations are always welcome.
