For sale The Aria Pro II SB-700 John Taylor MIJ

Aria Pro II SB-700 (older style headstock) for sale. This one is from circa 1980 and is in good condition except for a few dents/scratches. Not a whole lot of fret wear for the age and the neck is straight. As most know, the SBs were used by dozens of pros back in the ‘80s, John Taylor, Cliff Burton, Jack Bruce, et al.

The original pickup was dead so I had a Rautia MB-1E installed which is wired with a 3 way switch to get a variety of tones when combined with the tone control. It is still very much the same tone as the original SB pickups, though! With the extra tonal range it sounds a bit more like the SB-1000 in that it can go from a very wooly, bassy tone, to a more clanky, bright tone. MB-1E Pickup
This pickup is based on early -80's Aria Pro II MB-1E Ceramic pickup. A powerfull humbucker bass pickup. Two ceramic bar magnets, 8 steel pole slugs per coil, four conductor shielded wire, PolyNylon magnet wire. Wood- or machine screws available for mounting. The pickup's cover is thermoformed of high impact polystyrene sheet. The pickup fits directly into the original Aria bass pickup cavity. The use of a four conductor wire makes it possible to connect coils in series, in parallel or use coil splitting for a brighter single coil sound. Available also with two conductor wire; White hot, shield to ground and red for coil tapping.

DC resistance: 11,3 K Set: Bridge 11.3 K Neck 10.2 K

I had the bass setup and inspected by my tech. He put on some Rotosound steel round wounds (.40-.100) and added a couple washers to give the truss rod a couple more turns. It plays really nice and has the trademark SB tone!

CONUS Shipping is included with the price as well as a light duty gig bag. However, if you prefer a hard shell case I can ship in that but I ask for $75 extra for the case and additional shipping cost.
