OK, as suggested by HollowBassman, it seems a thread like this might be fun -- So, let's give it a try!
Here's the idea: Start with a statement in the form of, "Not to __________ like a __________," then insert the word "but" and go right ahead and "blank" like a "blank."
For example:
"Not to sound like a guitar player, but... If you've got six strings, shouldn't you be playing chords?"
Hollowbassman's example:
"Not to sound sexist, but women belong in the kitchen."
Now, not to sound like a cheerleader, but why not jump in and give it a shot? Just keep it clean and fun!
