I thought that switch only turned off the active EQ?
Picking up where I left off, the preamps are pretty stout on the A-series. You either like them or you do not.

This A4 is 13 years old, bought brand new in 2000, has been on dozens and dozens of recordings, countless live gigs. These pictures are 13 years old, this bass looks exactly the same today. The finish is stone-solid and has held up perfectly, there isn't a mark on it. Stock licensed Bartolini single coil pickups (the neck pickup does a GREAT P-Bass sound). Stays tuned, no neck issues, it's easily the best $600 bass I have ever owned (I've owned 27 basses so far .. no wait ... make that 28).

Those Curbows are just sick! Maybe someday if the stars are all properly aligned, I'll get my own.New to the club I picked this baby up a few weeks ago on the road. Only paid $240 for it with a hard case. Was looking for a light weight 5 and it fits the bill! Had to do a little surgery on the strap buttons they were stripped and had the wrong screws. Other than that just put on some new strings and a setup and she's my main bass now!

Any chance of a number?
That is one sick fekking bass! Welcome to the Cult of Cortage!
after playing in a band for some time, circumstances sent each one in different directions, the band ended & later, tired of playing bass alone w/ my TR 505, i sold my 1978 Fender Precision to a friend along w/ my rig but kept my Peavey Combo300..
some 20 years later i got the bug again, bought a Cort Action4A to have a go at it without committing too much money & i couldn't be happier : it's a very simple yet VERY well made bass & sounds absolutely great - WAY BETTER than it's price suggests
that was 6 months ago, then i got the bug to have a go at a 5er &...you guessed it : got myself a REALLY NICE Cort GB35 for 260€, shipping from Germany to Portugal included - can you friggin' believe it ?
thank goodness many people must have a ''Famous Brand Name'' on the headstock, this way we can go on buying really nice basses for peanuts !!
i changed it's strings for Ken Smith Burners, set it up properly myself & although it sounds quite nice as it is, i'm waiting for a Delano MC5FE/J for the bridge + a Delano JMVC5FE for the neck & a Delano Sonar 2 preamp : after that , it should sound absolutely fantastic, a poor man's Sandberg if you will....for some 550€
