yikes! I thought it was alot when I paid over $60 to see My Bloody Valentine a few years back. Totally worth it though.

There are definitely ways around paying ultra-high prices to get to shows — I paid $100 or so for nosebleeds when McCartney played here in Toronto this year, but thanks to some friends who were working there, we ended up moving to empty seats in the second row, stage right, immediately behind the Hofner bass & Epiphone Casino guitars Paul played on all those Beatles records.

There's no shortage of jobs in music venues (not necessarily high-paying, heheh) if you are desperate to see shows... you could be on front-of-house/usher staff, security, concessions, etc. and get paid to be there no matter who it is. Then, whenever it's music you dig, seeing even part of the show is definitely a big perk.

It's too bad that EMI was taken over by the Terra Firma lunatics; great bands have been dropping from their roster left and right ever since.
