The "Fastest" Bass You've Ever Played

I bought my wife an Ibanez SR700.
That bass is so fast, you have to tune it down by three whole steps just to play in key.
That bass is so fast, it was already pregnant when it arrived.
That bass is so fast, it was like Russia.
In Russia, you don't play bass.
Bass play YOU.
That's all I've got, but seriously, that thing is amazing. She was playing a Washburn version of the P-Bass, and that bass seriously sucked. When she started playing the Ibanez, she said it made her hands cramp up, and I suggested she play it for awhile, to see if maybe she's just playing it WRONG.
It was a good suggestion.

You can actually measure how fast you are playing when you use the Ashdown amps..they have the built in speedometer on some of their heads...
I think out of all my basses my #1 "fastest" is my Takamine GB400.
Next is any of my older 80's Charvels. The rest do sound great, but fight me too much.

Either my old Ibanez soundgear from about 10 years ago. It was a 5 string with a very narrow spacing and a thin neck.
Or.. My Ibanez Mikro. Short scale, good action, thin neck. 28 inches of win.
Honorable mention to my fender standard J 5 string.
My slowest was the schector diamond series elite 4, the finish on the back of the neck grabs my hand and slows me down a lot.

My epiphone pro 4 Thunderbird for sure! I love the neck on this bass, favorite neck of any bass i have ever owned!
23 different responses before somebody mentioned a Jazz bass. Well, there you go. ANY bass can be the fastest, easiest bass. It's how it fits you, and the setup, that matters, not the brand.
We're now at 32 different responses, if anyone would like to know. Who wants to bet that every manufacturer that's existed in the last thirty years will be mentioned? : D
