The Fendowsky Club

I'm in! Here's my story... I was going for a minimalist Tony Franklin vibe and then Joinercape posted a pic of his new Sadowsky P-J (EXACTLY as I WILL order one next year). Well, being impatient, and dealing with the ($$$) wedding of my daughter in June, I had to improvise. Here are the results...

Incredibly awesome American Standard Precision (Custom Shop built) factory prototype neck - worthy of this project IME - buffed out Highway 1 P body with nitro finish (again, THANKS Joinercape) - Fralin pups (+10% on J) - Sadowsky Pre with VTC - Sadowsky Bridge - Sadowsky flats - and a Sadowsky Ultralite case to carry it in (thanks to the bozo on eBay who listed it as a "Sadowski" case).

SOUND is monsterous!!! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Wow!!! BE proud of that bass! It looks great.:bassist:

I'm really surprised that swapping out for a Sadowsky pre isn't a more common mod! Yeah, it cost a bit more than most aftermarket active pre amps, but WOW(!) what an incredible upgrade. I'm also really impressed with the Sadowsky bridge I scored. I totally lucked out... snagging that in the TB classified. I'll likely be selling the Audere in my Jazz and going this way in a few months for that bass too.

You'll love the new bass Dave, maybe your grateful daughter will contribute after that wedding!

This bass has already moved to the front of the pack tone wise. I'll be gigging it on May 6th, 13th & 15th. I can't imagine what my future NYC P-J will be like :bassist::bassist:

I'm not a die-hard J-Bass guy but, I'm going to add this pre to mine soon. Maybe I'll develop some 'J Love' then :D

Dave

Here's an MIJ 75 Reissue that I sold here. (hope the current owner doesn't mind.) The pickups are the original Fenders mated to the Sadowsky pre- with the VTC. This bass sounded amazing and prompted me to go out and buy a similar Sadowsky Metro UV-70.

Note the work was done at Rogers shop...To my understanding he does not work on other basses anymore, just Sadowsky's.

Looks like Ms. Tal wilkenfelds' bass... nice! big fan!

Hi, I just became a Fendowsky proud owner. Awesome Tone, just incredible, the best part is that i didn't spend all that money that other people are complaining about. I Paid $500 for my Am Dlx Fender Precision and you know the rest, so is the greatest tone for less then $800 bucks!!! (I installed the pre myself)

Last summer I swapped out the neck and I recently added a Sadowsky P-J pickup set to mine. Sounds great! (and another increment more 'dowsky' :D ) As you can see from the pics, it's gotten a lot of play time. (I'm a lefty who plays righty and wears a watch on his right wrist... ooops! chipping the nitro)
