The Genz Benz Deal

Well I'm living black in Reno.
First day I was here I hit up an auction.. And bought 2 guitar pedals for under $25. A vintage big muff v5 & a ultra rare electro harmonix queen triggered wah(still for sale FYI)

I was in the market for my first bass amplifire...
And posted the big muff on Craigslist. My research told me the big muff is worth around $240 - $300. But I asked 250 or a trade for a jam worthy bass amp.


Make story short a tattoo artist traded me a Genz Benz ML200 112

In great condition.

Either way..I love this bass.

But Few question I'd like to know



Was that a good deal you think?

How good are genz Benz amplifiers (never herd of them)

Could I use it for small gigs?


All in all my set up ATM is a genz Benz I traded a pedal for that I bought for 25$

And my bass is a epi rockbass I got at a pawn shop for 25$

Good set up for $50 I think


I wait for the deals.. Lol


But yea.. Can anybody awnser those questions?

I'm thinking that is a solid guess :D PM agedhorse if you want more detail on the amp. The GenzBenz guys are very nice and very helpful. Heck the CEO at GB will even take phone calls from bassists! :eek:
It is hard to get better customer service than what GB will supply (and I'm a G-K fan).

Great amp company. Great trade for ($25). Not a gig worthy amp due to it's size unless you get PA support mic'ing it. You can do small gigs with it, if you're supporting an acoustic guitarist. If there are drums, forget about it.

My whole stack is Genz Benz. Solid company doing very well in this slow economy.

Well it has connections in the back were I could hook up a 1x15 or 2x10

If I need that extra loudness.

If it was a very loud performance Id probly run a DI box.

But odds are.. Yea there will be a drummer,guitars,possible keyboard.

As far as gigs go.. Nothin anytime soon... We're talking 7+ months away if we get that far. And yea I'd probly mic the amp.

Very popular and over quite a long product lifespan too. The Shuttle 3.0 was the logical evolution, though there are still folks who won't let go of their ML's.

Gigworthy? Depends on the gig. Great for church gigs, jazz gigs (and makes a nice upright amp too), easy listening, light rock and withthe built in DI it can do any sized gig you need to do with PA support.
