I'm astonished it took that long.
I'm pretty sure it's pluverized peas corn and beets, extruded and fried before freezing. When i was in Okinawa A&W had a joint there and their fries were made much the same way. They had a device over a fryer that extruded a potato slurry about the consistency of toothpaste. They would drop in the grease to cook, and if you never saw it happen you'd be hard pressed to tell the difference between the blorted out gobs and a cut up whole potato.
I like to cook ground turkey in a pan, then add a can of peas, salt and pepper. That's it. Something about the turkey grease mixed with the mushy canned peas reminds me of a sad Thanksgiving.
What kind of emergency could you have that would require peas?I keep peas in the breast pocket of my shirt for emergencies
