The Ken Smith Club, Part 2

This is my humble '92 Burner: a simple bolt-on that plays so good. Tuners black painting faded with time and use. I only took off the original black painting and buffed the body with shellac. Comfortable, light and extremely responsive to the touch. Low B is thunderous. Will NEVER sell it. So jealous of it... :)

I think that it is a legit Burner Series. Like mine posted above at post 982, but with better woods. What seems a bit strange is the headstock new style versus mine that is the old one. But being KS a small builder, it may very well be that this was a special "transition" series or something custom. Maybe one of the very last Burner built. The overall look of the bass seems ok, with me; bridge is typical KS, back of the headstock has the unique "arrow tip shape" reinforce at hs/neck joint and the control cover is exactly as mine: including the writing. Definitely worth every cent of the asking price. Maybe more: I would not sell mine for 2000 euro.

Hadrien Feraud (french virtuoso) was a standard Burner Series player, until he had his own KS signature made in Japan by a licensed builder or something like that; I don't recall very well the whole story, that was a bit controverted (IIRC).

Just giving the group a heads-up that my two Ken Smith BSR 5EG basses (fretted and fretless) will be going up for sale in the classifieds in the next few days.

BOTH basses are from Ken’s heyday in August of 2000;
BOTH basses have upgraded preamps (BMT w/ adjustable dip switches), tuners and custom wired pickup switches (series/single/parallel);
BOTH basses come with their original hardware and electronics.

.just not sure how accurate when they replica the sound.
