And I absolutely love them! I have slowly but surely converted almost exclusively to flats over the last 3ish years (tone reasons and absolutely zero regrets about it). These are without question the BEST feeling and sounding strings I have ever had on a bass guitar. My Guild has spent its life with rounds (at least with me) and it has never sounded better. I am absolutely blown away by these. $80 well spent!

Cheaper than Thomastick Infelds anyway, I think those are actually the most expensive strings on the market.

Speaking of expensive strings…One time I was winding some TI Jazz flats and wasn’t paying attention, kept winding the G string and it broke at the ball end. Whoops! “The Stupid Tax”
Been there, done that, but with cheaper strings. I can imagine…

For $80, those better last forever like La Bella DTFs! I'm going to stick with my Chromes for about $50 per pack.
Dogal bass strings are the most expensive I've seen. With Dogal Hellborg flats at the top.
Dogal strings are the most expensive I've seen. Specifically Dogal Hellborg (DH), with DH flat 5 string at the top.
They are stranded core. I've got a set of DH rounds on my main, the stranded core and lower gauge are so flexible. They are rounds but I find them as comfortable and easy to play as flats.
I think I paid about $120 with freight for a set of Optima gold plated strings 3 or so years ago with the conversation from Euros to dollars at the time. They're still holding up on my #1 work bass.
Have several sets of TI Flats on various 4 and 5 strings and they'll set you back a bit, but are purported to last for 15-20 years, so amortized, not so bad.
Flats, in general, last much longer, and I have some EB Cobalt Flats on a bass or two from when I started playing again, about 10 years ago. They still work fine.

Not surprising at all IMO. Slinky flats (cobalt flats) are a specific modern type of flats where they sound more like rounds IMO (I didn’t like them either) while Group flats are a traditional stainless steel flatwound design (I liked them). Completely different strings.

Somebody's posted the price of Dogal's 5-string Jonas Hellborg Flats set, so I imagine they've got even the 5-string set of TI's beat. I bought a 4-string set of the Hellborg flats, when they first became available here in the USA. I'm sure the price has gone up considerably since then, what with... one thing and another
; but... at the time? They cost $135.00 a set. IIRC, TI Jazz Flats were running around $70-75.00 at the time... 
Building a 4005-ish bass right now, TI flats have a reputation of lasting years, maybe I'll suck it up and try some.
