I hope that thing is pretty close to free. Whoever had that sanded the paint off the top and didn't do a very good job of it. Knobs are replaced, too. That's a 2B from about '87. There's a lot of better ones out there for $300-$400.

If the hardware is in solid shape and the neck isn't all jacked up (from what little I could tell it seems to be in good shape), it'd be worth refinishing. Charvels are criminally underrated basses.

Its a 2B. Great bass but not worth much. I wouldnt pay more than $200 for it.

Well it's on its way! The guy from the Beaverton Oregon GC appeared helpful, responded quickly and seemed fairly knowledgeable. He pointed out the fact that it was a 2B and had been incorrectly listed as a 3B. He said the neck was true, pots are wired in series but work and the body was (obviously) abused. So we'll see....I've wasted$100 on dumber s*#t.

well the neck if perfect to me is worth 100bucks, who cares what the body looks like

plus, if you really hate it, you can spend the extra 100 or so and get the body refinished

Question, I really would like to pick up another Jackson 5 string because I cant stand playing my Kelllbird V. Do the JS3V's have the same wide string spacing as the Kellybird V ? I believe its 19mm. I much prefer the spacing on my 90s concert V which is real narrow. Also, theres a Concert V in the classified if someone is interested. Im short on cash or I would snag it up.

thats a new js3V with the old C5. 1200 for both? whew. and 750 for the C5? whew.

$650 for the Concert V is about what I saw the last few sell for. But yeah the CVX5 is way over priced.

time to ebay a few rightys to get that pair. chances are that by the time i sell them to get the money, someone else will have already picked them up.

Only if the JS3Vs dont have the 19mm string spacing and you include a pair of EMG 40DCs and a BQS preamp. and loan me $1200

Well I just pulled the preamp out of the 4B that I have and put a John East MMSR 4 knob 3 band pre in it, next to do is put some GZR pups in it. It sounds way better now, but I feel that it improve even more with the addition of the GZR's.

dont throw the jackson preamp away, just put it in a drawer as there are lots of people asking for them every now and then.
