Here's the DEan bass i de-fretted. I used red oak to fill the fret slots.

Here's 4 of my current 5 basses (5th one is at tech's shop)

In order, these are:
'05 Fender Precision (MIM) with '73 Fender P pickup in neck and Seymour Duncan Quarterpounder in bridge
Abe Rivera custom 4 string with Fender Jazz Noiseless pickups - built in '86
Abe Rivera custom 5 string fretless (with, if memory serves, Sadowsky pickups) - built in '88
Epiphone Thunderbird IV (which one of these days, I'm gonna replace the PUPs)
 
5 string Alder body/ quilted maple with a flame maple/ebony neck
Bartolini P/J and 3 band EQ
lacewood headstock overlay
cocobolo / quilited maple/curly koa stringers.

I'm happy with the results. my first attept at building a 5.
