This is one of the churches in my hometown.
The modern building right next to it is a music school.

This one is taken on Snaefellsnes. This was on a path between two small villages called Arnarstapi and Hellnar.

This one is taken in Krisuvik, the water that comes from the earth is boiling hot there.

Very nice, I spent a year in Iceland back in 83-84, saw some very pretty sights. Unfortunately there were vey few sunny days. I'm glad I went though.

yeah, and the coolest part about the great salt lake is that its several times saltier than average oceans so you float a lot better in it. I've only been there once and I thought it was pretty cool! Except the fact that everything i was wearing was encrused with salt once i dried off. :hmm:

Some of my work can be seen on my Shutterbook page. For you guys that aren't familiar with Shutterbook, it's a way cool online gallery. I squeaked in while they were beta testing, so I have a lifetime free membership. Beta testing is over, so now it's pay only. Still well worth it I think.

On the first page, the "Nature" page, there are 2 pages of thumbs. Click the right dot directly above the thumbs to see the others. I say this because I think that is sometimes difficult to notice to people that aren't familiar with Shutterbook.

If any of you like any of my shots, please comment. I appreciate feedback, good OR bad!

Amazing pictures. Some of them almost look like paintings.

I really want to start photographing some myself, but I guess I'll have to get a camera first. :hmm:

Here's a picture of the view from my house (amazing huh? :smug: ) that I took with my dad's camera. It's pretty far from the quality of the other pictures, but here goes:

I grabbed a copy of it, and it's currently my desktop at work. Within an hour or so I had two people ask me about it.

That's a great fishbone shot...reminds me of some of the ol' Jazz photography.

It also reminds me of way back when my band played with fishbone...we sound checked with an old 60's ska classic and were rewarded by Angelo literally filling the empty dancefloor all by himself with that big toothy grin, high steppin', wheelin', spinnin' with his (now gone) lucite cane. He gave me a book of his 'poetry' with a nice inscription for that...

Thanks! I'm very interested in exploring and magnifying the smaller/private/intimate experience as opposed to wider larger panoramic viewpoint. I try to express emotion and personality through the presentation of image.

That's not to say that I don't like to do landscapes, as that last image shows...I just want to relate the fleeting personal momentary experience, or make that 'bigger' image feel smaller and more connected.

All of the above shots were done with my Olympus C-3000 zoom digital, purchased around 2000 at that time it cost me around 4 or 5 hundred bucks and it's 3.34mp. It's a bit more than a point-&-shoot, but not much. I spent a LOT of time learning how to 'trick' the camera into producing what I wanted to see.

The other half of the equasion is having a copy or three of photoshop around to do some righteous self-editing. Pretty much I prefer to work from a good shot and crop and do some light image adjustments...I don't like to tweak details. Fer instance, the image of the lily with the 'ghost image' behind it is cropped and maybe a touch of color/brightness adjustment but nothing else. I shot that picture carefully when there was sun on the front one but shadow on the back one.
