The Pinnacle of Laziness

I'm motivated for a lot of things but not for others. Examples of my laziness.

I never punch in the right time for a microwave cook. It's better to press the 30 second Express button 20 times for 10 minutes than to punch it in directly.

There is never a reason to reseal anything, I just fold it over and put the folded part on the fridge shelf for a self seal.

Its easier for me to turn off the alarm by grabbing the plug and pulling it out of the wall next to my bed nstead of reaching over extra and pressing the alarm off
button.

Since I divorced, I've maybe eaten off something other than a paper plate about 20 times.

That's all until I can remember something else. Yes I know that this doesn't fit my previous thread about getting a job.

Carpe Diem.

I do this as well.

I have a yard that takes 4 paces with a push mower and my wife and I still put off mowing. Why cut something that will just grow back?

Same with making the bed. Why do so when you're going to be getting back into it? Sort of like tying your shoes after you take them off. Why would you ever do that?

I used to think that I was lazy because thats what my dad told me I was. I've since realized that I have a set of yet to be dissected acute anxieties that stop me from doing certain things like washing dishes, do laundry, etc. despite being able to spend days learning/memorizing whole prog songs or go on 50mile bike rides.

YMMV, IME, ITTET, etc.

I have similar experiences on a weekly basis. I have no problem managing all sorts of complex projects and long-term problem-solving out in the field, but tackling a pile of laundry in my living room literally brings me to the brink of a panic attack.

Wow, poster joined and was banned on the same day.
That's gotta be a TB record.

I'm oh so curious to search if it is, or even have a little look-see at his profile.
Now that I think of it, that sounds like a great little job for later on this week...Thursday...Friday maybe...perhaps even Saturday....

Yeah Saturday, that's it...by then maybe I can talk the despicable Ex to come over to activate the voice command for me, this way I can search from the couch....

Happens more than you'd guess because new members sometimes (often) don't bother to read the rules before posting. :(

People also manage to get their accounts suspended or banned by scoffing at/ignoring the site rules, then show up at the Help Desk to tell the admins what pieces of poopie they and the site are, then create a new account to circumvent the suspension or ban as if nothing had ever happened. Incredible as it might seem, these very same people often show up at the help desk in a state of shock and outrage that the new account was banned before being given a chance.

Truth is stranger than fiction.

And speaking of examples of laziness, the other day I got up at 6 and my 15 year old was awake in his room on the second floor. I passed his room and went downstairs to get some coffee and start making my lunch for work that day. About 2 minutes later he comes flying down the stairs, runs into the 1st floor bathroom, and locks the door for 10 minutes. Curious as to why he would do that when there is a bathroom right next to his bedroom that was unoccupied, I thought to ask him when he came out.

He was out and halfway up the stairs before I caught up to ask him what was up. His reply? "Oh, the upstairs bathroom is out of toilet paper". Guess what he wasn't carrying up the stairs with him as he said this? :eyebrow:

I learned a long time ago that if I have things to do I just have to start them right away once I get up. Otherwise, I end up counting down the hours in the day instead of actually doing what it is that I have to do.

Same here. Jim Gaffigan jokes about starting the day with a little procrastination by hitting the snooze button, but I find my day moves along much better if I get up and get after it the first time I am woke up.
