I Dunno, I live in Glasgow and there are some decent shops with HUGE selections that also order in anything you want so you can try. Maybe just England sucks.

Huge selections of Double Basses..... !!??

What are the names of these shops?

Of course there are many shops with loads of bass guitar gear - but the point of this thread is that Double Bass gear is very limited in the UK.

Double bass gear is limited world wide. If the local luthiers here didn't have an amp or two laying around, we'd have to mail order everything in to NYC as well.

They've got a load of those in my local shop and I was just put off, as they look so "cheap" and insubstantial...

I would just be embarassed to turn up at a serious gig with something that looked like that - the bright yellow just screams "Tacky" to me - I'll stick with Euphonic Audio!!

Next time, you should listen to them as well as look at them, you'll be surprised
