I have been spending way too much time on the Warmoth site looking at parts for basses.
So, today I said screw it and ordered a P bass kit. Except what I ordered was much cheaper and not from Warmoth. Anyway, I can finally stop GASSING.

It's the P-bass kit from BYO Guitar.
Mahogany body, maple neck, and rosewood fretboard - pretty basic.

Sweet. I gotta check that out. I need like 4 more Jazz basses for various string and pickup combinations, so this would be one affordable way to make that happen.......

An SX bass is probably cheaper, but I really wanted to assemble and finish one to my liking.

From what I've seen and heard about some of these budget brands, the quality can actually be very decent. For me, at the end of the day, as long as the neck is reasonably stable and of decent quality and the fret work doesn't suck, the rest of the bass is negotiable. Light weight is preferable.
