FYI, lot of research into what perfume attracts men. It's a $$$$ business. Unfortunately , it seems the there are several candidates and the pheromone that works the best seems to do so almost subliminally. There has been ongoing debate in the past whether the detection is done by a vestigial nasal nerve structure (either the vomeronasal nerve or the terminal nerve CN0) and not not the olfactory nerve. Lots of lovely discussions with my wife and one of my kids (med school prof) on this.

Three chemicals go into the mix, and all are byproducts of bacterial degradation.

1) very low base of acetic acid ( vinegar) and propionic acid (sweat). This mix is also found in the armpits as a byproduct of bacteria breaking down the proteins secreted by exocrine gland developed after puberty.
2) the trigger chemical is isobutyric acid in very very low concentrations. The chemical has a rancid smell
and is found in higher quantities immediately prior to estrus.

Studies using this blend yield higher than random results in regards to percieved atractiveness. I actually read a research paper that said in so many words that the mix clouds men's minds.

Ok, I will go on hiatus for a while.
