The Real James Jamerson Amp

Jamerson Jr was the bassist in my band for a short time I can assure you that when in the studio he would plug directly into the board with no other outboard gear. Didn’t matter what studio we went were in, same thing. I would spend an hour setting up my guitar amp, getting it in the right position in the room, making sure the mic was in just the right spot, dialing in a different tone for each song, putting on fresh strings, etc... and JJ would just plug into the console with his old strings and be done in 15 minutes! It was an amazing thing to be part of!!!
