Oh right. THAT's why I haven't done this.
Plus it's hard enough finding lefties that I like in GOOD condition.

About 7 years ago I found a '76 Thunderbird on eBay, stripped of everything that could be stripped from it, including the truss rod nut.
This is the picture from the seller:
It took a couple of years, but I found all the correct parts to restore it (didn't refinish, I like the natural "relic").
This is it right after I finished:
The neck had been broken and repaired. It is very stable. Turned out great.
