Beats me. It could be one pedal or 4 pedals. Only the bassist knows how to get that tone 100%. A gated fuzz will get you 95% there.
thats what i was asking. I wasnt sure if that actually meant running a gate side chain to a fuzz or if there are gated fuzz pedals

Chunk Brown Dog is pretty popular 'round here, I guess. Or a Woolly Mammoth, too.
Haven't played either.

glad the sleeping is sounding good again. the album before this was absolute crap. i was pretty stoked to hear this one. and their bassist is an absolutely madman.
but yeah.. gated fuzz with a good deal of buzzy high end.
did some digging. he doesnt appear to use any pedals live, so i have no idea what they used in the studio. he does happen to like GK heads, orange cabs, rics, p basses and grabbers.

they buried EVERYTHING including their taste in songwriting in leslie organ. after 3 songs it was just too much.
but i agree. the new one was a breath of fresh air
