The summer job thread

So at 44, I have a summer job. I'm watching a friends' 6-yr-old son 3 days a week. This in addition to my own 3, 6 & 9-yr-olds. And just because I'm a masochist, we had my nephew's girl(2nd cousin?)over today. Talk about a flippin' 5-ring circus...
[insane clown smilie here]

Edit: Oh, yeah- so post your summer job or related stories, real or imagined, here.

And what's wrong with working in a library? I used to work in a library part-time.

Its boring as ****.

That's where the smart chicks hang. You know, the ones who will someday have a job. ;)

well, ill also have a REAL job as soon as im out of college. But theres one problem with your theory, Trepassey has about 750 people, no hot chicks that live there EVER go to the library.

I've been out of work for four f*g years! Partially because of this, my wife and I decided day-care this summer is just too costly. So it's me and my 7yo daughter Mon-Fri, plus her best friend (another 7yo girl) Mon&Tues. No pay; just doing what a father/husband/friend should...I guess.

(sigh) Man, do I wish I had a life.

meh, my saturday job is an all year round thing, I get some extra shifts in the summer though. sales assistant at boots (its like the UK version of Target, but with more food and makeup).

but I am doing voluntary work for the ol' CV this summer - one week in a nursing home, and two weeks at the 'cure for the common cold' research centre... upping my total lab work to 4 weeks (the other 2 being in the molecular bio lab at the university, doing stem cell research - which sounds more complicated than it actually was [just consisted of shoving pipes down placentas and pumping them full of saline, and harvesting the blood] ) , and one week of nursing.
