I have no idea. If/when I get around to releasing it I'll probably crowdsource the list of effects that get put on. I have a lot more patches than will fit in a single unit, but obviously some are less useful than others, especially for bass. I will be using removable EEPROM (memory chip)s though, so if anyone doesn't like the stock effects I end up with or just wants different options, they will be pointed in the direction of someone (PedalPCB) that already offers custom EEPROM programming services as his EEPROMs are completely compatible with my builds and are easily swapped out.

Well I just did the artwork for the first of the two units I'm building for myself, and it kills me that it looks so much better on a white background than a bare aluminum background. Looks like when I get to the point that I'm ordering pre-made enclosures that's one that will have to go on white instead of silver.

I had a Guyatone BB-1 that has since been traded away. Using it as an overdrive, it's just awful; perhaps I had a dead unit, but it's incredibly thin sounding. The EQ section was nice though, parametric mids with a bass "color" knob; using that with the gain all the way down was an interesting option. Would not recommend trying this pedal though, there was nothing 'warm' about it.

On an unrelated note (but before I otherwise forget) I'll have another pedal for you to try out soon, so I'll need to arrange swapping that out for the Elementary sometime.

I promise you'll like it as much if not more than Elementary.

Mmkay, I'm officially using the UV printer to color-code my EEPROMs for digital builds. I have two Glass Butterfly builds ready to go on my board now, one dedicated completely to reverb, the other (pictured) with a variety of modulation effects.

Also if I decide to offer Glass Butterfly as a standard offering this is what the artwork will look like. I found that if I do multiple passes and print the artwork 3-4 times the colors pop a lot better against the raw background.

My guitarist picked up a black eye before it became unavailable and he protects it with his life. He uses it extensively for all our higher-gain stuff. It's been making me really wanna check one out. A more bass-friendly version sounds pretty cool!

Excellent, glad to hear it! It broke my heart to discontinue it because it really is my absolute #1 favorite pedal in the world on guitar, but in the two years of offering it I believe I sold 5 or 6 (I personally own 4, in addition to an original Soldano GTO), so it didn't make sense to keep spending time keeping the design up to date.

I play guitar as well as bass, and I don't really want to change the way Black Eye responds to guitar, so what I'm considering doing is, aside from the Baxandall, adding a bass/guitar switch to open up or tighten the low end.

In playing with the Lab Rat though I still find the Baxandall to be extremely useful on the guitar. I like the idea of Baxandall for both.

I'm have absolutely zero experience in making pedals but it's always fascinated me so I've workshopped ideas in my head on what I'd try to do as a pedal maker if I ever got time to get into the craft (weird? idk). Being a bassist/guitarist that uses the same pedalboard for both, I always thought it would be a great idea to design pedals in exactly this way -- just have a bass mode and a guitar mode on a toggle switch! However, whatever that entails in regards to circuit design is completely foreign to me.

I can confidently say if you end up doing that though, I'd definitely be interested! Do you know if changing the tonestack that is normally part of the circuit to baxandall would also change up the voicing of the pedal and make it something it's not? I really have no idea on this stuff so that may be a silly question -- but is there some secret sauce in the tonestack on something like this?

That's a strong statement... got a chance to play it with my band the other day, it was an absolute hit; now you're telling me it gets better??
