The usual "New to Recording/is this good" thread...

Boy to think with the lil bonus I recieved yesterday I now have enough funds to get the E-MU and that nice MIDI controller linked above! Instant recording studio. BTW big difference between 512 and 1 gig memory. I was able to edit and burn 3 DVD's last night in an hour and half. I could never do that before. Now maybe I need a higher speed DVD/CD burner...hmmm.

They used to tell us to burn at the lowest speed we could stand to avoid "jitter". Not sure if that makes sense anymore or not.

edit: You will be in home recording heaven! Have fun! Be patient too, I remember getting a little frustrated at first. They include the instructions on the CD in a .pdf, which you actually do need to read. They also incude a quickstart, so you can screw around with it right away, which is cool.
 
Yeah I can't wait man!!! Thanks for the point in the right direction guys. I've told the drummer so far and he's just goin outa his mind. He and one of the gitarists is recording at his house with some waaaaay old no name brand software and a dinasour of a computer.
